The Hidden Valley Club Partners with SkiDUCK to Introduce Underprivileged Kids to Winter Sports
Vernon, NJ, January 14th, 2012… The Hidden Valley Club has partnered with SkiDuck (Skiing and snowboarding for Disabled and Underprivileged Children and older Kids), a new non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of disabled and underprivileged children by sharing the joys of skiing and snowboarding. The SkiDUCK programs provide kids an opportunity to develop confidence and build relationships through their on-snow adventure.
On January 11th, 2012 SkiDUCK launched its East Coast program by bringing 20 kids from Bronx, NY for their first ski and snowboard lessons. The Hidden Valley Club provided lessons, rentals and lift tickets at no cost to participants, in an effort to introduce them to something they might not have otherwise experienced; the fun that can be had outside on snow during the winter months. With first event deemed a success according to the organizers, HV Club staff and most importantly the kids, the Hidden Valley Club plans to expand the program to accommodate more children next season. Regarding the inaugural event Snow Sport School Manager Tom Mattice says “Our Snow Sport Professionals were enriched by the experience and pleased to be given the opportunity to partner with such a great organization”.
Because the participants are not accustomed to participating in winter sports many do not have the appropriate attire, donations of ski and snowboard clothing are welcomed by SkiDUCK.
